Pay or Contest Scott County Tickets

Traffic Court vs Driver Record
A Scott County traffic court record is not the same file as an Indiana driver record. The county court record is created through the citation and court case. Scott County Deferral and CDL
Scott County's traffic page routes infraction deferral questions to the Scott County Prosecutor's Office. The documented local deferral category is speeding tickets less than 20 mph over the speed limit. CDL license holders are excluded. Call the Prosecutor's Office at 812-752-8466 to ask whether a specific ticket qualifies. Do not assume a general defensive-driving course is available unless the Prosecutor or court confirms it.
If a license has already been sent for suspension, the driver must first pay the Scott County ticket. After payment, the Clerk submits notice to the Indiana BMV the following business day. For Driving While Suspended or Operating without Financial Responsibility citations, the county page says Indiana BMV laws still suspend for an additional 90 days after payment.
